The ITIA is a values-driven organisation, with a clear mission: to deliver impactful anti-doping and anti-corruption programmes to protect the integrity of our Members’ events and those who participate in them.

Our programmes are intelligence-led, innovative, collaborative and focus on prevention alongside detection, and we are always on the lookout for talented individuals who can help us to deliver our mission.

Based in Roehampton, South West London, the ITIA has a progressive and inclusive approach to modern-day employment, with great benefits, excellent culture, and opportunities for professional and personal development.

You don’t have to just take our word for it. Here’s what our staff have to say about working at the ITIA

  • DEE BAIN

    INVESTIGATIONS

My current role involves managing a small team of investigators.

Our work involves investigating suspected breaches of tennis’ integrity rules, whether they are related to corruption, in the form of match-fixing, or doping cases. I also work with our education team and jointly deliver preventative training and support to the tennis family.

I was attracted to joining the ITIA because of my love of tennis. Since I was at school, I have played the sport, and I love watching the professional game – so much so that I used to queue for hours as a teenager to collect the autographs of champions like Jimmy Connors and Ilie Nastase.

Using my experience of 30 years in the Metropolitan Police to help keep the sport that I love clean and fair motivates me.

To me, integrity is about demonstrating honesty, and standing by strong moral principles. In tennis, this means playing fair and providing equal opportunity.

  • HELEN CALTON

    INVESTIGATIONS

As one of the investigators at the ITIA, I conduct investigations of potential breaches of tennis’ integrity rules.

As a former police officer, joining the ITIA has enabled me to further my career, but within a sport I am passionate about.

I love to keep active and spend my time at CrossFit, swimming or playing tennis – the latter of which with lots of enthusiasm but a little less talent!

To me, integrity is about doing the right thing even when no one is watching you. This might not always give you the advantage, but it is fair and proper, allowing for an even playing field.

  • GLEN SHACKEL

    INTELLIGENCE

I grew up in Wimbledon Park and could hear the cheer of the Centre Court crowds from my back garden, so I have always had an interest in tennis and would keep an eye out for whenever an analyst vacancy came up.

Having previously worked at the Metropolitan and Surrey Police as a crime intelligence analyst, I provide analysis in support of investigations into corruption and doping offences in international tennis – this includes the analysis of a wide range of sources to assist in cases and identify further attempts to manipulate the result of matches.

For me integrity means to build trust and respect.  Integrity contributes to professional success, promotes moral responsibility, sets a positive example, and boosts self-respect. In terms of tennis, integrity allows people to aspire to achievements and success based on hard and fair effort.

  • RICHARD SACKEY-ADDO

    EDUCATION

I’ve played tennis throughout my whole life and started coaching when I was at school. I continued my coaching journey at university, before going on to work in the International Tennis Federation's development department.

My role at the ITIA involves managing our partner education programmes with our members, regional/national federations and other tennis bodies that help inform, educate and protect the sport and its participants.

Outside of work, I am passionate about diversity and inclusion. In my spare time, I co-lead the Tennis Black List, an initiative that celebrates and helps create opportunities for the black and mixed-black heritage community in tennis – both on and off the court. I am also a huge fan of live music and football.

To me, integrity means having the strength of character to do what is right even in difficult situations.

  • DANIEL COLE

    COMMUNICATIONS

My role includes providing updates for the tennis stakeholders and general public on the work we undertake at the ITIA, including quarterly reports, press releases on sanctions, and liaising with media.

An important part of my role is supporting the ITIA’s work in prioritising prevention of integrity issues before they occur.

This includes developing resources for tennis officials, players, and their support staff to ensure that they understand the rules.

To me, integrity is about putting the principles of fair play and equality of opportunity above individual interests – no matter the personal or professional implications.
